Inert Gas Fire Extinguishing System
Clean Agent Fire Protection System
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Fighting System

Inert Gas Fire Extinguishing System

Flamefast supply Fike's innovative ProInert® Gas Fire Extinguishing Systems. Widely accepted as one of the best performing, most cost-effective, and environmentally friendly inert gas fire extinguishing systems, ProInert® offers all the benefits of other inert gas systems with several significant design improvements - enhancements that not only mean a superior product, but savings to your bottom line!

Most inert gas systems discharge from the nozzle into the protected space with a high surge flow rate, creating a hazardous pressure peak. These systems use pressure reducers further down the pipe network in order to mitigate safety issues, but also require both high-pressure and low-pressure piping.

Because of its unique patented valve assembly, the ProInert® agent enters the protected room within the industry required 60 seconds, but at a steady flow rate -- preventing destructive turbulence from occurring. This constant flow rate means you can use small-diameter, low pressure (and less expensive) piping from the inert gas container, all the way to the nozzle. And the necessary venting area is much smaller - reducing installation costs by as much as 60% on venting hardware.

ProInert® patented constant flow rate valve translates into a system that is not only safer for your staff and facility, but also saves you money.

Clean Agent Fire Protection System

For speed in suppressing fires, reducing damages, saving on floor space and allowing visibility, our Clean Agent Fire Protection System, using Dupont™ FM-200® as the extinguishing agent, leaves no residue and doesn't require costly clean-up, unlike sprinklers and other fire protection systems. And it discharges in 10 seconds or less, extinguishing a fire quickly and effectively.

Clean Agent System with FM-200 (also known as HFC-227ea), uses a patented rupture disc valve design offering additional flexibility, effectiveness and speed. That translates into minimal equipment / facility damage and little or no business interruption.

Clean Agent Fire Suppression Systems are great in applications ranging from telecommunications and data processing to switch gear rooms, military applications and cell sites to high-tech medical applications. FM-200 fire suppression is also a widely accepted replacement for Halon 1301.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Fighting System

The original "clean" agent, carbon dioxide suppresses fire without leaving behind an agent to damage sensitive equipment. And because there is no agent to clean up, you’re back in business faster.

Carbon dioxide is a plentiful, non-corrosive gas that does not support combustion nor react with most substances. It is commonly compressed to the liquid state for storage and transportation in TPED cylinders. Upon release, it discharges under its own pressure giving the appearance of steam as its low temperature crystalizes water in the air. For fire suppression purposes the discharge is designed to raise the carbon dioxide concentration in the hazard. This removes the free oxygen which supports combustion*, and results in fire extinguishment. The resultant lack of free oxygen dictates that total flooding hazards be evacuated immediately, and carbon dioxide from local application be avoided by personnel.

Applications:

Carbon dioxide extinguishing agent used in engineered systems is particularly useful for hazards where an electrical, nonconductive medium is essential or desirable; where clean-up of other agents presents a problem; or where the hazard obstructions require the use of a gaseous agent.

The following are typical hazards protected by carbon dioxide systems:

Printing presses

Vaults

Open pits

Dip tanks

Spray booths

Ovens

Engine rooms

Coating machines

Process equipment

Hoods and ducts

Flammable gas or liquid storage areas
