Sprinklers Save Lives
Fire is devastating and can rip through a building at frightening speed. However, you can provide 24/7 protection by installing a residential sprinkler system that can stop a fire as soon as it breaks out.
If a fire breaks out hot air and gases rise to the ceiling and upon reaching the nearest sprinkler head will heat the seal on the waterway.
The cap on the sprinkler head will fall away and the system will be activated, spraying water over the fire to extinguish the flames.
The water will immediately cool the hot gases and therefore prevent other sprinklers activating.
Multiple heads will only activate if hot gases reach the next nearest unit, limiting water damage to the premises.
Responding fire fighters will only shut off the system once they are sure that the fire is completely out.
The number of nozzles required is dependent upon the size of the room in which they are installed.
An average-sized room will only need one sprinkler which works by breaking up the stream of water into a fine spray.
In larger buildings, such as warehouses, factories or large open plan offices, more than one sprinkler may be necessary. In residential settings, there is less likelihood of more than one sprinkler being activated.
